Nicolò Mangraviti was born on July 30th, 1992 in Messina (Italy).
Interested in molecular biology he attended and achieved the Master degree at “Sapienza” University of Rome in “Genetic and Molecular Biology In basic and biomedical research” in the January 2017
During the last year of Master, he performed his internship at the laboratory RNA of editing at the Children Hospital Bambino Gesù of Rome , under supervision of Dott.Angela Gallo and Prof Alessandro Fatica In this period, him focused his attention on the activity of RNA editing by ADAR’s family in Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM)
In January 2017 him started working as a research fellow in the laboratory of Dott.Angela Gallo Continuing his thesis project and starting to study in small part LncRNA edited in GBM and Brain and have acquire a good background in RNA biology especially RNA editing LncRNA and microRNA
Nicolò will join Maastricht University as a PhD student on February under the supervision of Prof. Leon de Windt the focus of our research is evaluate the influence of LncRNA and microRNA in human cardiovascular Disease in particular focus on An unbiased locked nucleic acid (LNA) based silencing screen of the genome content of microRNA (miRNA) genes involved in agonist-induced cardiomyocyte hypertrophy
