Personal statement:

After completing my PhD thesis at Maastricht University, The Netherlands (including a stay of 1.5 years at the Cardiac Bioelectricity and Arrhythmia Center, Washington University in St. Louis, MO), I did my post-doctoral training in the team of Prof. Dr. Dobromir Dobrev at the Institute of Pharmacology, University Duisburg-Essen, Germany. In April 2015, I joined the faculty of the Department of Cardiology, Maastricht University Medical Centre as an assistant professor. My main interests center around the combination of experimental and computational methods to investigate the basic mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias.
